Welcome to the Sunshine Farm!
We created this blog to share our adventures living on a small 12-acre hobby farm in Upstate New York. We live with a silly golden retriever pup, two hilarious and adorable cats, a Paint Horse named TJ, a mini horse named Justin, five chickens, and four adopted goats. On this blog we will share our life with all of you: the highs, lows, lessons learned, projects completed, adventures, and more. We share our experiences with animals, from raising chicks to fostering barn kittens to encountering the challenges of caring for horses. We post creative projects like designing a modern farmhouse, completing DIY projects, watercolor painting, and animal photography. You can also find plant-based recipes, read about funny moments with our animals, and see photos of our land, our home, our critters, and our family!
A Little Bit About Us:
Hi! We’re Jenn and Chris and we own the Sunshine Farm. After graduating college we got married and decided to live in Rochester, NY (where Chris grew up). Our first year married we lived in the city of Rochester with two adopted cats and a golden retriever pup. In December 2016 we made a big life change and purchased a 12 acre horse property about 30 minutes outside of Rochester.
Hi, I’m Jenn. I’m 23 and I have always had a huge passion for all animals. On the weekends and evenings you can find me playing with our animals, working on projects around the farm, drawing and painting, singing, or lounging around the house with my husband. During the week, I work full time advocating for people with disabilities. I am also enrolled in a doctorate program taking graduate classes part time in the evenings. Sounds a little busy, huh? Actually, it’s not bad at all. I love having my days filled with things to do. It keeps me busy motivated!
Chris grew up in the Rochester area with an animal loving family. Chris is incredibly handy. He always impresses me with his ability to complete any kind of project. He also completes the morning chores around the farm (aren’t I lucky?!), making sure all of the animals are happy and healthy! During the week he works as an Energy Engineer. He loves to find efficient solutions for all of our farm needs and always makes sure we have a camera installed so we can keep an eye on our littlest critters. He loves music, the Buffalo Bills, our silly cats, and spending time with family and friends.
We hope you enjoy visiting our blog! We would love to hear what you think.
